| Dewsbury turned down an oppertunity for promotion to SL because it would have meant the players would have had to go full time and many held down good jobs which they weren't willing to give up.
When i mentioned the figures in respect of ratios it was meant as a way of measuring interest. I was trying to illustrate that you can't force something on someone who isn't interested. In respect of Dewsburys fans as surprising as this may be but their crowds are actually on the increase. This is the same for a number of league one and championship sides. Most likely it is down to the costs of Superleague entrance but that is pure speculation.
I can see the sense behind expansion, but i simply don't think it will work and i believe that in trying for something which will invariably fail we are cutting off the blood supply of teams that could make it work. Additionally the teams which have hardly any home support (Celtic for example) How many away fans do they get? Maybe more this season because its a new away ground. But Celtic will have to have an average home of gate of maybe 6k+ to equal most games played up here. How much revenue must be lost weekly by the RFL!
Ivor i would certainly like to see where you got your facts from - not that i think you have fabricated them - Its just they are highly respectable claims if true.
However im not sure about your 1 team per region - by region did you mean County? Council area?

I think we will just have to agree to differ Gem, cause although i see your point of view and have a lot of sympathy for it, you are talking about the game of yesteryear, It was great but It's over. You could be right about some expansion teams failing, but be fair they cant fail much worse than some of the NLsides are doing. On another note ,we will try and hit some more ball this week, I will give you a bell.
