Giants to sign Lee Mossop? Empty

Huddersfield are hoping to secure the services of Wigan reserve forward Lee Mossop in time for Sunday's home game against Salford.

The 20-year-old Mossop has spent the last month on loan at Championship club Barrow, who are keen to retain him, and is now on the wanted list of the Giants.

"He's a player we'd like to get in on a loan basis," said coach Nathan Brown. "We've like to get him here for this week if we can."

Mossop made three substitute appearances for the Warriors in 2008 but his only senior outing so far this year was in the Challenge Cup tie at Barrow in April.

Meanwhile, Huddersfield - who are hoping to announce a major signing for 2010 - will be without prop Darrell Griffin for the visit of Salford after he picked up a leg injury in Sunday's 38-12 Challenge Cup win over Rochdale but could have Andy Raleigh back after a four-match absence with a knee problem.

"Raleigh's been cleared to play and he got through a tough session today," said Brown. "We'll have to see how he pulls up tomorrow."
