| Class act, good straight metres,in fact I think those metres when he turned up on the the opposite side set up the first try.And it looks like if he is not scragged down early he will go the length.A very dangerous player,a great addition to the squad. | |

| I thought he did well, he was keen to get the ball but a lot was played down the opposite side so he didnt perhaps get as much action but his time will come. I am sure he will prove a good signing. | |

| Looked the similar style to McGillveray I thought, strong and quick. Certainly adding strength to the team. | |

Could not agree more. We'd have played better if he had have been red carded in the first minute.

| Had a poor game, like Leroy. Seemed injured after big hit, but missed a try and poor defence for Charnley try. | |

| I think there were a few players who made mistakes tonight...last week we played well and seemed to gel so why did we have so many changes when facing the current champions?
My judgment is reserved on Simpson, will give him a while longer before commenting on whether he was worth signing or not.
Others have come and taken some time to bed in....it may also been the case with him.

he played for a team who were ravaged by injuries and finished outside the 8
appearances 8.. 6 as interchange. no wonder the daughter didnt moan when we signed him, she complained when we signed famerlogo lol

| I agree Danna reserve judgment on Simpson.. it will take time not sure about all the chopping and changing though...were early enough in the season to do these things and work out a winning squada lot of individual errors cost us tonight. Very strong wigan defence against a giants attacking side with little or no idea long season though and plenty of time to iron out the creases !! | |

| It's early days yet ,but he seemed woefully short of pace last night, I was a bit dissapointed with the team N Brown put out last night, and i feel Mcgillvary would have been the perfect player to have handled that Wigan kid (who had a great game), Wardle could turn out to be very usefull. | |

| We all have our bad days and simpson had his tonight. If we hadn't been on sky his try would have stood in my eyes.
We need to regroup and look at the mistakes and improve.

| First of all Wigans defence was superb. faultless, l wouldn,t even have given our 6 Our forwards did everything that is asked of them, they probably had 60% possesion and 70% territory, and laid a huge platform for the backs The backs Grix apart were average, Cudjoe and Simpson the worst 2 players on the field. Never critisized Nathan before, but why is ou in form strike player McGilvery left out. the sooner Nathan finds his best 17 the better Still early days 3 out of our next 4 and we are still on track. Some funny scores all around so far this year. | |

We need to regroup and look at the mistakes and improve. Good call.I respect other peoples opinions,he didn't have a great game but we need to cut this kid some slack already.Just 2 games into his English journey. If he's played grade for Souths he's no turkey.

Some funny scores all around so far this year. Nathan did say the Knights midweek attenders would not feature for the Giants on Friday.Cudjoe and McGillvary had started to develop a nice partnership down the right flank,so the fact that it wasn't there anymore became more of a chellenge to the new combo. It didn't click against the SL champs fair enough but would probably have had better success against a lot of the rest. Squad rotation, well look at Quins today, they can't rotate players and get dreadfully hammered. We have the luxury of keeping the best fresher. One note of caution about rotation though is the fact that the run in to the Super league Grand Final is much easier from the top two positions and if you get stung by it a couple of times it can make the road to Old Trafford that bit harder.Who'd be a coach.

| l appreciate all comments on hear, l want all our players to do well, l want the Giants to do well, like everyone on hear, but this is professional sport, there is no room for sentiment, Simo, and Cudjoe were poor and should pay the price, at the moment Nathan Brown is a god, but if he doesn,t deliver the goods thats what he will be remembered for, nothing, nobody remembers the guy or the team that comes second. to win anything this season we are going to have to beat Wigan, and probably a full strength Wigan. l have faith we can do it, we have to. | |

| Exactly Boomer He is a cracking COACH --that wasnt coaching --that was policy and man management You all know my views (and many brand me a moaner!! ) BUT i DONT GO WITH THIS CHOPPING / CHANGING/ MOVING PLAYERS ABOUT --SORRY Neither do I go with this view --"Its not how you start its how you finish" // " Its a long hard season -its early days --Theres a lot more rounds to go etc etc 2 points is two points at any stage -first game or last Get yer points on the board and let the rest bother about themselves and catching up ! -same as in a fixture If YOU / WE are behind on the run in --the pressure`s on us Drather have the cushion myself Yes - the Wigan defence was superb Yes - the man with the whiostle now goes to the same opticians as the rest it seems but -- at home - with the confidence builder we got against Bulls --and against a weakened "pies" team -- a 4 pointer needed to be won -and sadly IMO - we would have been better keeping a formation that had "gelled" magnificently the week previous --and letting it gain momentum Cant imagine players liking this in and out / stop start either myself Thanks folks - Rant over! | |

| Ill add to your rant Rod, it bugs me when people talk about players "settling in" or "give them time"
Not being funny but these are professional athletes at the top of their game. If they can play rugby, they can play rugby. Simpson was dire and fair enough, he might turn out to be awesome but for years the Giants have been so inconsistent it has literally ruined seasons and pushed supporters away. We need players than can play at the very least to a good standard week in week out and fans that make excuses for these players I ask you - If you was paying his wage for that performance would you be as understanding and supportive? No, of course you wouldn't, and it's not getting on players backs before anyone picks up that one. Players play and can expect criticism and praise on account of their efforts.
We needed 13 men on the field if we had any chance of beating Wigan Friday night and the reality is we didn't. Simpson was one of those who simply was a waste of a kit Friday.

| I can see where the last two posts are coming from, as some of the stuff i can relate to, I was as disappointed with Simson and Cudjo as anyone after that game, and like Pennine i have always been in the why change a winning side school, My main complaint about JS when he was coach was the appalling way he chopped around with the team. Now i am not comparing N Brown to him in the slightest, his record here speaks for It's self and he is quite obviously playing the long game, but i am wondering if there is such a thing as two big a squad, have we got so many potentially first choice players that we are going to be unable to keep them all happy, Players like Ferguson and Patrick need to play, when for example you have three hookers chosen someone has to stay out to make way, It's a bit baffling to me, we have some great youngsters fighting and ready to stake a claim for a spot ,and at the same time we are signing Aussies on long term contracts, somebody must know what it's about, But with all the players we now have it's difficult to see us ever having a settled side, without upsetting some of the players.
As regards the Wigan game Simson and Cudjo were poor so why not use some of this huge squad, dont wait till we are playing someone like Batley in the cup before thay get a game ,what sort of message does that send. To me someone plays poorly you replace him with the A teamer, if the team plays well keep the same side, Not quite that simple i know ,but it's hard to see why you would change a side that just put 50points on the Bulls, even if some of them have been training with England.

| I can see where you are all coming from, but I would rather have a big squad with some disappointed players than have a small squad like Quins and get a few thrashings. We have genuine competition for places right across the team. We have genuine internationals who need to perform if they want to continue in the international scene. This is fantastic and it means if someone has a bad knock, loses form or any other reason Nathan chooses he can replace them with someone else who is keen to prove a point. I wasn't sure before the season kicked off because we lost a lot of experienced players, but we have a bigger squad with a good mix of youth and experience all of whom can play in SL. | |

| Just because we had a spare quota spot, does not mean we had to fill it.
3 Years he has signed for? And you can bet your mortgage he will be on big money to come over, certainly bigger than a prospect in the national leagues, who could do just as good a job.
Is he in the same class as Fa'logo, o'donnell or ex captain Brett Hodgson? No he isn't and it's these type of quality imports we need to bring the team and younger players on. There are too many journeymen in this league, doing nothing for the development of young players or the national sides.
I wasn't enamoured when we signed him, i'm even less so now he's had 2 games and 1 in the 20s.
