| If the rumours circulating are true, then I have to say I think it is a great bit of business from the Giants. Brough ain't popular, he's no pin up but what he is is one hell of a player. His kicking game is awesome, he has a winning attitude, he's a match winner and bit of a maverick...he can produce the unexpected. I've seen alot of negative things written from our fans about signing him, but he has been a huge success at every club he's been at. Was outstanding against Leeds when Hull won the cup, was Castleford's top man when they won back promotion and was easily the best player in Super League for 4 or so months solid last season and also helped Wakey to CC cup semi final. I remember when we played Wakey at the galpharm last season, he was 13 players rolled into one that day...his kicking game continually made Thorman look more of a mug than usual and he was untouchable that day. So far this season are kicking game has just not been good enough, we have never found a replacememt for Drew and maybe Brough will provide that spark to actually make us genuine contenders for silverware this season. Feel sorry fror Robbo and Brown but if we are honest they are not really setting the world alight and if you look at those sides who are competing for trophies year in year out, they have excellent halves...we do not. Good move for Giants if true | |

| How old is he?
To be honest, unless he wants out now from Wakey I wouldn't bother. We do need a spark in the middle of the park, Fulton was supposed to provide that, but injury means we will see very little from him this season. Next season we have McNally added to the mix and who knows who else could become available too.
Anyway someone you would look seriously at IMO.

| He's 26. McNally looks like a fantastic prospect, possibly the best player we signed this season in terms of long term potential anyway.
I think Brough could change the whole dynamic of how we play and ensure we score alot more tries through his bombs and grubbers....also I bt we get fewer 40-20's than most other teams in the league. For me it's our kicking game that is really going to hinder our chances of being genuine challengers. By signing Brough that will be sorted out straight away. Well worth a gamble IMO.

| I actually think our kicking game is much improved this season. Although sometimes it could be better. I believe we need someone with a bit of magic in the middle. A super stan, Costin or Drew. I don't know if Brough offers this or not. Or whether he is worth the so called 100k transfer fee. Still at 26 he is at his peak and on the odd occasion I have seen him play he would be a positive addition to our squad. | |

| To be fair £100k is a lot of money. I think we could get much better for that money.
Is this a case of "well we'd accounted for it anyway"

Is this a case of "well we'd accounted for it anyway" Difficult one is that. There are so few transfer fees paid in RL that there is very little to compare it to. If he helps us finish in the top four or get to the challenge cup final then he is money well spent. Thinking about it, would he be cup tied?

| A poor performance from halfbacks, whoever they be, is usually down to them playing behind a beaten pack, Halfbacks who really control games seldom do so from being on the back foot, I'm not saying he is not worth a punt and i have never seen Brown as a half myself ( hard as he has been trying ) But in view of the fact we have McNally and poss Fulton, I'm not sure the money could not be better spent elsewhere. Although there have been some notable efforts from individual players ,I have not been over Impressed with the way the pack have performed in a lot of games. Anyway for what It's worth , Although we do want all the success we can get this season to increase our crowds (for one thing) It is essentially a three year season and the main goal for me is to establish the club ahead of Bradford. Seems a bit off topic i know but what i am trying to say is , In the modern day game players come and go , season on season, so if he comes fine ,if he doesn't nothing lost, It's the Korky signing that has me baffled. | |

| after being linked with carney and Fien i would see Brough as a step down and a bit dissappointing BUT Brown obviously has a plan so lets go with it if it comes off. | |

I hope so, Brough has shown signs of brilliance, his kicking game although in-consistant, is pretty good. However, he lacks in other area's, such as tackle breaks. I would have signed him a couple of years ago, but I also think that £100k is too much for him. There are better players who I would have over him, for less dosh.

| There was a certain Saints player who was available at just less than that at the end of last season mate, as much as I hate the guy, pound for pound he would have been a much better asset to us, but he took less money to stay put. | |

| Id have Liam Finn. Week in week out he controls Dewsbury all over the park and gets mom most weeks. His kicking game is awesome and its rare he misses a goal from anywhere on the field. He played 7 for Ireland and got mom in the WC.
Why he hasn't already been snapped up is beyond me.

| I cant stand brough .. yeah he's a good player, I've seen better to be honest! £100k IS TOO MUCH. Waaayyy tooooo much. We could get someone better than him for that money. There is just summat about him I just can't stand, like with thorman. ( brough and thorman don't deserve capital letters ) | |

The second rumour is that if you get DB but change the initials around then you will get the initials of the player we are getting. Rumours in wakefield suggest that Korki may be going on loan

| To me 100K just seems a bit steep for Brough. Yes he is a good player, but for that money?!? However saying that, I've not been impressed with Robison since we got him. He show flashes of what he can and should be playing like , but doesn't produce often enough. | |
