Giants v Rochdale 11:30 kick Off

That’s the message from Giants chiefs as they’ve made the Galpharm Challenge Cup clash with Rochdale Hornets an 11.30am kick-off!

The fifth-round tie on Sunday, May 10, is also a cut-price encounter but has been brought forward to avoid a clash with the televised match between St Helens and Catalans Dragons.

Jo plays Saturday mornings so we'll be ok to watch the Cup match on Sunday.

now that is true. i would choose to watch my giants any day than watching the saints

Gonna be an early one for me - our school reunion the night before! Crazy but will do it!

morgan(my lad) is playing at featherstone lions on sunday morning at 10.30,so we can not make the giants v rochdale game.

Well what a dour game. Lunt was our best player by a mile followed by Robinson(when he was on) and Cudjoe. How Hemingway i still at the club is beyond me, he was the worst player on the pitch. Credit to Rochdale they never gave up but we only showed patches of enthusiasm.

Agree on Hemingway, offered nothing today.
Agree on Lunt - head & shoulders above everyone.
But can't agree on Cudjoe, his running the ball out is poor and he could with a bit of effort have prevented both Rochdales tries.
Bruno should have had a field day today but seemed to lack pace and confidence today. His winger certainly will be short of ball.
Eorl was closely watched today but rarely ran as hard as he has been doing.
Too many forwards dying with the ball. Too much play in centrefield, not enough width and too little pace, especially in the threequrters.
In fact we were that slow today Rochdale lasted the pace until the final whistle.

Credits today to Lunt, Robinson, Patrick & Korkidas.
Dummies to Lawrence, Cudjoe, Finnigan & Aspinwall.

Very disappointed today.

Firstly we won which was what we had to do, it was never gonna be a walkover like alot expected.

Can't agree with the Cudjoe comments, did exactly what Brett does every game.
Positionally was very very good and took the high ball well.
Lunt MOTM closely followed by Patrick who had a solid hard working game in defence and attack and then Cudjoe.

Rochdale did well today, defended well for most of game but what was dissapointing is we made it easy for them.

A couple of times we had overlap out wide but as we moved the ball along the line it gets so far then we try the inside pass which is so predictable.

The passing is too slow (not zipped across the line) and when gets to Faiumu he messes around too much with the dummy inside and outside again slowing the passing move too much.

Rochdale moved the ball better than us today across their attacking line which was dissapointing.

As we have mentioned before we need to become more clinical like the so called bigger teams.
