| Don't know if i'm allowed to mention the names but if we don't beat Batley then it'll be a poor show from some of our guys. | |

| The thing is we should name a trong squad, the whole point of friendlies is for the new players to get some playing time with the team, to try new tactics etc and never is this more vital than with a new coach and new key players.
I always boycott friendlies where its an acadamy side since it obviously a blatant money spinner.
Still, hope its as good a game as Bradford v Dewsbury was. Best game ive seen in years.

If thats a strong squad id love to see what a poor one is.

| Looking at the squad i think it'll be the forwards that should win it for us. | |

| Party at Shogun's afterwards. He's only about a mile away from the Batley ground. I'll have the party when we play Dewsbury | |

- JAMAHL LOLESI will lead the Giants’ challenge at Batley this weekend.
The 27-year-old former New Zealand Test back-row forward has been confirmed in a strong Huddersfield Giants Select side to take on the club from the Co-operative Championship in Sunday’s tough pre-season clash at Mount Pleasant (2.00).
It will be Lolesi’s first pre-season run-out for the Giants, with the fans’ favourite having returned to England from Australia only on Sunday because of a delay in processing his new visa.
Lolesi will be joined in the Giants line-up by fellow Super League squad men and new signings Michael Korkidas, Shaun Lunt, Joe Walsh and Larne Patrick, who will be making his Huddersfield debut after recovering from a back injury which kept him out of the earlier games.
Also named in a strong-looking squad are Lolesi’s fellow former Kiwi international teammate David Faiumu, Leroy Cudjoe, Danny Kirmond and Richard Lopag.
The rest of the side will be made up of the club’s most promising youngsters, who will provide the backbone for the reserve side this season.
And hosts Batley should provide a tough test, with Bulldogs chief Gary Thornton expected to name a strong squad as they look to build on last Sunday’s 16-4 home defeat to Super League club Hull KR.
