I hope Paul Andersen gets rid or brings in a new fullback for next season he's I'd useless and we need another playmaker like broughy cause in big games he is just gonna be targeted all the time

Wasn't his best game by a long shot, In fact he was B***** awful but to be fair when your pack gets a good hiding like that your problems have started long before Grix, Warrington's pack were making 75yds every set, they were harder, faster, fitter, stronger, in fact they were superior in every way.
The Giants have some very good forwards individually but as a pack they have no Steel compaired to the other top sides, except sometimes they have great goal line defence, when that fails they get whupped. We have beaten all the top sides except Wolves, but on every occasion we have done it from very few scoring chances and terrific goal line defence, almost all of the games have been played mostly in our half because the opposition pack have just rolled over us .
We need to get some Iron in our play from somewhere and it needs to be on show next week, we have to bounce straight back from today, I'm sure P Anderson sees that clearly enough.
Brough i thought did his best in an imposible position, every team has bad days , and a occasional nightmare, ours are always against Warrington, Next is Cas we need to give them a mauling.

Today was a perfect illustration of exactly the type of team Fartown are at present. In reality, we have about two-thirds of an excellent side but we are carrying players who just aren't up to this level of football. People who think we are legitimately challenging for honours are deluding themselves. We are just not hard-faced or professional enough to win the pressure games where it's all or nothing.

So what if we knock over big teams in the League? Those matches aren't do or die. When there's something tangible on the line, Fartown just can't get it done, end of.

True, Grix was bad today, but he wasn't alone.

Scott Grix was simply not the reason we lost to Wire. There were some very average performances and Scott's was one, there were also some very poor performances, particularly in our pack where, Ferres, Patrick and Ta'ai were all dreadful, yet we all know those three can be super players when we play well.

Some of Mr Bentham's decisions did not help, particularly ignoring the three clear ball strips in the first 10 minutes which helped Wire build momentum. We then dragged ourselves back into the game, which was encouraging, only to lose two poor tries immediatly before and after half time (I know the second was a clear forward pass, but that would have been fortunate as there was an overlap anyway).

The biggest issue for me was Wire's dominance of the tackle getting 4 or 5 bodies and really slowing things down, contrast that with Ganson's play off interpretation for the same two teams not so long ago. I fail to see how the extra guys just flopping on top is legal, it was like old time Rugby Union at times, that killed all our momentum before we even had it. That said Mr Bentham allowed it so why did we not do the same? I am sure he would have penalised us first, but it would have forced the issue and he would have had to ref the tackle. To simply accept it but play fair ourselves was only ever going to result in the battering we took up front.

All very disappointing, so how will we react, a test for Baloo's new Giants.

Grix inspires no confidence as the last line of defence, especially when the intensity gets ramped up by the likes of Dire,Goons or even Leeds.Just becomes a defensive turnstile.

If the politically correct Fools don't like that - tough

Right about the reffing there dee,a few seasons back we couldn't lay a finger on Dire thanks to Ganson, now it's slow it down as long as you like.

Why we did not do the same is that we were nowhere near strong enough to control the collision how many times did we see Fartown players lying on their backs in a Wire 'win' prostrate, nowhere capable of getting up into marker,or just getting shrugged off when it came to the winning the ground, allowing an easy ptb.

To sum up - Gutless
