What responsibilities did he actually have?

I'm not trying to knock him, I'm sure he was a quality guy, just wondered what his job entailed?

His job title was "Football Manager". A superfluous job I would have thought, when you have two coaches, a player performance manager, and Richard Thewlis managing director. If I was in charge I would certainly have the present employees do more and possibly cut a bit more dead wood out.

Shouldn't be half as much inside info from one of the Muskateers now that Daddy's gone!

For me I am not bothered he has gone myself, I htink he was meant to be something to do with the Academy, but would he know Talent if it bit him on Backside?

The problem is with the competitiveness these days its difficult for any coach.

But i think we need someone like John Kear, who in my eyes has to be one the of the best coaches of modern times. I know people might say what about Mick Potter but lets not forget he's had a ton of money and 3 seasons to sort it out.

Every other coach has walked into a club already made or with a pocket full of cash. Kear has taken a 17 man team who were fighting relegation since the start of superleague and with 7 of his first team members out has made them a top 6 side and the semi (poss finals) of the Challenge cup - whilst having arguably the best number 7 in the league.

I think Davy should get his checkbook out.

Kears skills are very much underestimated Stu, however i dont think he would be welcomed back by most of the Giants fans.
