The RFL have issued the following information to the Giants travelling support ahead of the clubs hugely anticipated Carnegie Challenge Cup Semi-Final with St Helens on Sunday at the Halliwell Jones Stadium (4.00pm).
Advice to supporters travelling to the Halliwell Jones Stadium:
Please note that there is a total ban on smoking throughout the Halliwell Jones Stadium, including the stands, terraces, toilets and hospitality areas.
A large crowd is expected for this match and traffic congestion is inevitable. Please travel early to allow for any expected delays.
By Road:
From the M62 – Leave the motorway at J9 – onto the A49 and follow the brown tourist signs – please note that there are speed restriction cameras along the A49.
From the M6 – Leave the motorway at J22 (signposted Warrington) at the roundabout take the third exit onto the A49 and follow the brown tourist signs – please note that there are speed restriction cameras along the A49.
By Rail:
Central Railway Station is approximately 400 meters from the Stadium and serves the East/West Trans-Pennine route. Bank Quay station is approximately 1km from the stadium and serves the North/South mainline. Please remember to check departure and arrival times.
Car Parking:
There are numerous car parks both private and public that are within easy walking distance of the Stadium. For further information spectators can log onto the Warrington Wolves web-site, click onto club info and then onto the tab labelled “finding us”. Standard charges will apply for public car parks, charges for private car parks will be at the owners discretion. From a crime prevention perspective the Police advise that spectators do not leave any valuable on view.
Tesco Car Park:
Tesco shopping centre car park, adjacent to the Stadium, is strictly for use by Tesco customers only. Tesco have the option to use the parking barriers. The car park is also stewarded on match days. Please do not park your car in this car park as you will be fined £50.00
In conjunction with Warrington Wolves & Warrington Borough Council there is a controlled parking zone. This is to ensure that match day parking does not inconvenience local residents or cause road safety problems. Controlled zones are clearly marked and fines will be imposed for illegal parking.
Disabled Supporters:
There are 30 on-site accessible spaces located at the North East corner of the stadium. To pre-book a space please contact the RFL Box Office on 0870 990 1313. Overflow parking will be accommodated on Winwick Road. Wheelchair access is via gates A & B at the corner of the North Stand.
By Bus:
The Halliwell Jones Stadium is located on a high frequency bus route. On Sunday’s there is a service passing every 30 minutes. Warrington bus station is approximately 500 meters from the Stadium. Sunday timetable – No. 19 (58 mins past the hour), No. 20 (45 mins past the hour) and No. 420 (30 mins past the hour)
Coach Parking:
It is envisaged that there will be a significant number of spectator coaches in attendance on the day. There is a limited number of spaces available for coaches on the Matalan Car park (on Winwick Road) allocated on a first come first served basis – parking is free of charge. Once the Matalan car park is full coaches will be directed to park on an alternative site.
Turnstiles:
Turnstiles will open at 2.00pm. There are no pass outs for this event. Once spectators have entered the stadium they will not be able to exit until the match has concluded.
Food & Drink:
• Bars are open on the ground from turnstiles but will close approx 15 minutes into the second half and will not re-open
• Alcoholic drinks are allowed to be taken into the seats and onto the terracing
• There are bars in the concourse under all four sections of the stadium
• Hot and cold snacks & soft drinks are available in the ground from turnstiles opening through to the end of the game
NB: All streets in the Warrington Borough area are alcohol free zones. Alcohol is not allowed to be taken outside pubs or consumed outdoors. Any one seen to be consuming alcohol outdoors will have it confiscated by the Police.
Ground Regulations - In particular please note:-
• Fireworks, smoke canisters, knives, bottles, glasses, cans, or other articles which might be used as a weapon, missile, or used to cause annoyance are not permitted within the Ground and will be confiscated.
• The use of foul and abusive language, obscene chanting or racial abuse towards any person is strictly forbidden.
• Unauthorised persons are strictly forbidden from entering the field of play. Anyone doing so will be removed from the ground.
• Prams are not allowed to be taken into the stadium.
• The use of air horns, klaxons, whistles and any other item likely to cause confusion, annoyance or nuisance of any kind are not permitted in any part of the ground.
• Alcohol is not allowed to be brought into the stadium from outside.
• All spectators entering the stadium are admitted subject to the understanding that they may be required to submit to a search to prevent dangerous items being brought into the ground which might be used to cause injury or damage to other people of property.
• With the exception of authorised press representatives holding official passes, the taking of photographs or cine/video photography inside the ground is prohibited.
Supporters are reminded that they have until Wednesday 5th August at 4.30pm to pre purchase their tickets and ensure they maximise savings, with prices set to rise by up to £5 on the day

The Ticket Office is also selling ‘Giants on Tour’ official coach travel which costs £12 and departs from the Stadium at 1.30pm on the day of the game.
