- Ambitious Giants Chairman Ken Davy has issued a rallying call to the Town’s sports fans ahead of Sunday’s big Galpharm Stadium opener against St Helens. His side is buoyed by a magnificent away victory in France over Catalans Dragons, putting them second in the engage Super League table.
“Last Saturday was a great afternoon for Town supporters with the victory over Leeds and a great night for Giants Fans with the win in France. Together these results created a fantastic day for the sporting pride of Huddersfield.”
“The win against the Catalans shows that this is a team that the Town can be proud of,” said Davy, “Sunday is the chance for everyone to come down to the Galpharm and see a fabulous game against the famous Saints in a world class venue. Season ticket sales are over 5000 and we also expect St Helens to bring strong support so I would urge all our ticket holders to use their ‘Bring a Buddy’ vouchers for this game and help us smash the 10000 barrier once more.”
“The big screen has been revamped as has the matchday music, add in our primary school ‘under 12’s go free’ offer and the Giants are undoubtedly statistically the best value family sporting day around.”
“The team has evolved over the close season and when you consider that the victory in France was achieved without two Kiwi Internationals playing, it shows the strength in depth we now have. Nathan Brown’s coaching style delivers rugby that is freeflowing and a joy to watch - which is something that the Saints are also renowned for. So the scene is set for a fabulous afternoon’s entertainment.” LINKUsually when we hear this from Ken, we make the effort getting extra people there only for the players let us down. Let's hope that under Nathan the players will have a different attitude. | |
