| Giantsrl.com - Quote :
- Both the Giants Reserve and Academy sides are in action this Saturday in a double header at Moldgreen’s DRAM which starts at 12.00pm with the Academy’s fixture against Castleford Tigers and concludes with the Reserve team facing Wigan Warriors in a 2.30pm kick off.
Wayne Stead’s Academy side will be looking to gain revenge for a 28-12 defeat suffered at the hands of the Tigers in April and build on last weeks impressive 38-26 victory over Hull KR.
The Reserve team fixture will see the return to action of GB International Stephen Wild, who has recovered from a broken arm suffered in the Round 7 fixture at Warrington Wolves.
Wild has been given the all clear from the specialist and will be a welcome addition to the squad and physio Garry Slade is pleased with Wild’s progress:
“Stephen still has a lot of work to do but he is progressing well and is ready for a reserve team run out. Hopefully this will bring into first team contention soon.”
Andy Procter’s side are lying 4th in the league behind the Warriors and will be looking to bounce back from a 58-22 defeat at league leaders Leeds Rhinos in their previous game.
Entry is free for season ticket holders with a £2 charge for non season ticket holders. | |

| We went to this and I must admit we were outmuscled and out kicked by both Cas and Wigan whom had about 5 could be more 1st Teamers in their Squad, Brian Noble turned up nice to see a Coach there Stephen only played 40 mins, to be fair he did not look match fit, but he did play ok. Paul Anderson and Keith Purtill were there as were nearly all the 1st Teamers, except for Jammer, Elford, Hudson and Griff, maybe they showed up and I did not see them cas beat us by 38-10 wigan by 46-6 I think as I gave up counting lol. Still there was quite a few Giants Fans that we knew and all together there must have been about 3-400 there. | |
