Saints monday night Empty
PostSubject: Saints monday night   Saints monday night EmptyWed May 29, 2013 7:05 am

We are on a roll. Form is great, very few players out injured. There is no better time to be a Fartowner.

It's a real shame this game is on a Monday evening. If it had been Sunday we could have been looking at a really good crowd, but I fear the awkward kick off time will put a fair few off. Still lets not worry about that, it's what is on the pitch that really matters. Roby looks like he will make a return and he is one of the best players in Super League so obviously will make a massive difference to Saints. They will also be desperate to put right a few wrongs from last time we played them, just like we did against Bradford last weekend.

I predict a really close game that could go either way, the luck of the bounce here or there might make the difference. Still if we get the basics right, then we have the class to score plenty of points and then we just need to defend like we have been for the last few weeks.

Will be interesting to compare Lunt & Roby. For me Lunt is the form 9 of the comp, along with Higham.Watched McIllorum vs Leeds,he is no better than Shaun, can only spin pass out of one hand like most.Lunty's distribution is second to none now, both from deck & open play.Roby relies on quick ptb's to roll out of dh,other than that ??

Watched Saints in their last two games, slow starts both times, they looked like they might get a lot of points put on them, but hung on in there and fought their way back into the contest.Started to play some footy out wide which was unusual to say they are being coached by NB.Generally expect the percentages from him

Wardle to return & Ferres back to 2nd row,Ukuma to bench.

Think we'll be too strong,If we come out fast we could blow them off the park, but we musn't relax because as I say they will be dogged & won't throw the towel in at any stage.

Great first half, think the lads thought they could do anything in the second half and made too many mistakes so we had to defend too much. Still good win and now 11 points ahead of Saints. Also credit to the lads at the back, they created the best atmosphere in a while. Bring on Hull KR.

Went pretty much the way I thought it might.Arm wrestle,Saints crack first concede a few points, but hang on in there grimly for the rest of the game.Typical Browny not much structure to the attack,Saints fans are finding out what I always thought.Roby's introduction made a big difference.Fairly obvious their plan was to keep the ball out of Mcgillvary's hands.

As for us,outstanding defensively for the majority, disciplined, then good scramble when needed.and we had to soak up some pressure due to our own mistakes.

Brough brilliant, one concern is we lose the strength battle and rely too much on his kicks.Thought Kopczak had one of his better games,Eorl as good as ever, but Lawrence impressed with his go forward, good to see that.

They have got wise to Leroys one hand pass to Jerry, that's two weeks on the trot he's been intercepted. That would have been try time otherwise. Then he held on to the ball on a similar overlap chance.Summat for him to work on now,but defensively as strong as ever.
