| I THINK IT'S A KAK APPOINTMENT!!!! THAT'S MY HONEST OPINION!!! Only kidding, I just saw the word DANRIL and went into automatic bull$41T. I am pretty chuffed. At least this guy is weathered as a coach and not someone who has just played 2nd fiddle somewhere else. He has a great footing on which to build a great team, but his arrival in October means that in reality, this season can only be written off and start afresh in the new year. | |

| I really hope he is the bees knees, but I am worried. St. George don't want him anymore? So why if he isn't required by them is he good enough for us? Ok Kear was crap with us but has done a decent job at Wakey, so there is no reason Brown will improve us. Still I am concerned by this appointment and I'm not sure he will make things much better than Sharp. | |

| Looking at the photos in the examiner I hope he has more to smile about when he comes here. Just hope first impressions dont count for much. Apparently not coming until october, how is he going to see the players who are out of contract play and make his decisions for himself? He is keeping in touch with the 2 stand ins by phone and watching videos, but is that good enough, he cant possibly get to know individuals who are out of contract and have any influence on their decisions. How will he decide who to re-sign or let go? Players who are out of contract but are good enough to be hunted by other teams, are they going to wait around to see whether they might have a job here? I doubt it. Lets face it, good free players aren't hanging around without a team for long after the season ends are they? By october what are we going to be left with - all the scraps? I just hope the timing of all this doesn't have the negative effect that I think it could have. | |

Matt i feel exactly the same. Looking at his credentials and his achievements for me he is still a young coach who for one season took an already good team and led them to the GF, since then he has apparently made SGI just an average team, and when you consider he had players such as Gasnier in his squad you cant help thinking he should have done more. In my mind there are coaches better suited for Huddersfield and this does appear to be a wrong choice. Guinness - again i agree, its not the best start for a coach. Ideally we could have done with someone now. Someone who could have come and seen the players first hand at a competitive level, somone who could clear out the dead wood and decide on signings that would fit and get rid of players that wont. It all just seems a bit slap bang for me. |

| Why does it matter whether he is here now or not? It's not like the coach gets that much say on signings anyway. | |

I am of the opinion that right now we have a broken team that needs fixing. How can a coach arrive in October having spent no time with the players before hand, having never seen them play or train first hand simply take them on and know whats what in order to correctly make way where it is needed and sign where needed. |

Thats just what I was meaning Stu. This year will have to written off. All we can do is leave it with the 2 temp coaches to see if they can nurse the team through to October.

I agree 100% Guinees --hence "what I said!!previous --similar !! "" ""Personally I´m with the club100% for not rushing things ! But a little concerned aboutb letting things ride too long ! A new caoch (whoever) would need time to evaluate the existing squad and my bets are he wont be happy to inherit a squad -and be told do the bst with that ! Id think he would want to assess em in action and make up his own mind who he wants to retain / release / add In which case , the chance for him to watch em in action this season and adjust accordingly would be a big advantage in my opinion We would then hopefully go into a new season with a squad HE feels happy with and presumably with his first 17 alraedy mapped out[/i] I would hate to see any unnecessary experimentation yet again like recent events and a "team" that other than loss of form or injuries shows some stability would be a distinct advantage Trail and error ?? - for goodness sake lets kiss it goodbye now !!""
