- 6 GIANTS NAMED IN ENGLAND SQUAD
Huddersfield Giants were today celebrating with six players named in Steve McNamara's 24 man England Four Nations Squad. Kevin Brown, Eorl Crabtree, Leroy Cudjoe, Darrell Griffin, Shaun Lunt and Luke Robinson are all selected.
The squad will be captained by Adrian Morley, the richly-experienced prop who led Warrington Wolves to a second consecutive Challenge Cup final victory at Wembley this year, and is drawn from 11 different clubs.
McNamara has selected 13 forwards and 11 backs in his first tour squad, which features just seven survivors from England’s 2008 Rugby League World Cup squad.
Huddersfield Giants, who have just enjoyed their most successful Engage Super League season, have six representatives. Wigan Warriors, the newly-crowned Engage Super League champions, have five players in the squad – Darrell Goulding, Joel Tomkins, Sam Tomkins, Sean O’Loughlin and Stuart Fielden.
The other clubs represented are Warrington Wolves (four players), St Helens (two), Leeds Rhinos, Hull FC, Harlequins RL, Castleford Tigers, South Sydney, Wests Tigers and Melbourne Storm (one each).
England's 24-man squad for the 2010 Four Nations Series:
Backs: R Atkins (Warrington), T Briscoe (Hull), K Brown (Huddersfield), T Clubb (Harlequins), L Cudjoe (Huddersfield), D Goulding (Wigan), R Hall (Leeds), L Robinson (Huddersfield), S Tomkins (Wigan), M Shenton (Castleford), G Widdop (Melbourne).
Forwards: S Burgess (South Sydney), E Crabtree (Huddersfield), G Ellis (Wests Tigers), S Fielden (Wigan), J Graham (St Helens), D Griffin (Huddersfield), B Harrison (Warrington), S Lunt (Huddersfield), A Morley (Warrington, capt), S O'Loughlin (Wigan), J Roby (St Helens), J Tomkins (Wigan), B Westwood (Warrington). link

| Most of the other message boards seem to rubbish the Huddersfield contingent. I know we are a bit biased, but looking at the overall picture we were the second best defensive side in the league, and if the opposition can`t get over the try line it will be hard to win. | |

W e have been sending such great winning teams over there for so long now, this is bound to be a big let down with so many Giants in.

It is quite funny to read the Leeds and Saints boards regarding our contingent, but as you say past squads from these shores have come back with their tails between their legs, and they have contained the bulk of players from those sides. This lot can`t do any worse, my only worry is the coach who does not seem to me to be a good motivator.

Exactly mate, for years GB has been made up of the usual teams and they have never done anything, in fact i seem to recall a team full of NL1/2 players and Pat Richards did better than us in the last 3 nations (Ireland)

| To be honest we only have 3 of our 19 man squad for the play-offs being overseas, then its not surprising we have a decent number in the squad. What will be more interesting is how many are on the pitch at anyone time. | |

| Some great comments in the Examiner here. Cudjoe and Lunts stories are a real rag to riches. | |
