I'd expect Batley to win if they're putting a stong team out.

| Ended up 40-12 to Batley. I saw the squad before I set off for the game but I trusted the coaching staff to put out a team they tought could compete with Batley. How wrong I was. We were outplayed in every department. Nobody shone for us really although our first try came from a nice touch from McNally but he still looks miles away from a SL player. The team that the Giants put out was a total lack of respect for the supporters and Batley considering it was £10 to get in which I assume the Giants had a say in. Maybe I didn't learn my lesson either as I think I said pretty much the same thing last year after this game. In future i'll only pay that kind of money to watch pretty much the first team. | |

| F/T Result Batley 40-12 Giants.
Edited: From what you are saying Mark, it's another reason why many supporters don't bother with the local friendlies.

| I can understand not putting out a first 17 for a game like this, but you need a side that is going to be at least an even match with Batley, so fringe players like Carlile, Patrick etc... should have played. | |

| I didn't got for the same reason as people are saying about the squad put out.
Not a single first teamer is not only a complete lack of respect for both sets of fans but an absolute insult to a game that Batley financially relies quite heavily on to help get some cash.
In all honesty if the Giants hadn't of bothered turning up they'd have probably looked a lot better.

| 3 - 5 first team squad players should be played in every warm up game. Otherwise it is just a waste of time having any friendlies at all. Giants forwards looked scrawny in comparison to the Batley forwards, and made no penetration at all, while the Batley forwards were getting over the gain line regularly. | |

| Glad I didnt go as I would have been disappointed. Not over excited about our other friendlies all of which bar one are away I believe. Was hoping to go to the Cas one but not sure I will make it on a Tuesday night. Oh well, looking forward to Eorls Testimonial next weekend - hopefully they will put a good side out for that otherwise Fax will walk away with the win! | |

I think the only one I will make is Eorl's game against Fax. The big guy deserves a decent turn out.

I know what you mean, but Eorl's game will be my first friendly since Paul Reilly's testimonial. Basically I very rarely watch friendlies as each time I have I regret it, either because of the poor line up or the lack of intensity. I understand why the club have them and why they pick academy/fringe players and don't play at full pelt, but nowadays I am not prepared to pay for it other than exceptional circumstances like a testimonial.
