| After the early part of the season when I thought the refereeing was much better than previous seasons it now seems to be reverting back to the old inconsistent days. Today was a perfect example. We seemed to be getting pinged for technical offences that Warrington were allowed to get away with regularly. Yet thuggery was either ignored by both touch judges and ref or treated far too lightly. | |

| Just what I thought Matt. Very one sided today. | |

| I'm afraid it was the usual Ian Smith we saw today but he is no different to most refs. The inconsistency of the 'professional' refrees is appalling and there appears little being done to rectify the situation.
At one stage today Smith had our defensive line back a minimum 15 metres and still managed to penalise us for offside. He appeared to find every reason to ping us yet allowed Warrington to get away with the same offence.
It will be interesting to see the penalty count.

| To me the answer is obvious in regard to Linesmen.
The way it works is that SL linesmen are NL1 referrees, NL1 linesmen are NL2 refs etc etc....
Of course all are looking to be promoted in the future and as such are scared of making a wrong decision to a superior.
The simple problem would be to have dedicated Linesmen.

| Ian Smith let me down today. I rate him as one of the best, but he was poor today. Far too inconsistent. | |

Apparently the penalty count was 11-5 to wire. We were never that much worse than Wire today, but will anything come of it?

I said before the game that he's probably thebest ref at the moment, now i'm not so sure. TBH I don't think the standard has improved since the went full time. I mean, how can paying them more help them make the correct decision? They've always seemed fit enough to be up with the action. Smith missed loads of things today, maybe he needs some of those Viagra eye drops to make him look harder

| He was cr@p. I'm sure that something must me done. Even after a win, with enough complaints to Redhall, it should be investigated at least! | |

| I'll be honest by saying Red Hall couldn't give a stuff as long as Leeds and Stains are up at the top of the league the refs are doing their jobs!!!!
Maybe I am being cynical but it's just the way it appears at the mo.

| They are all so inconsistent it's untrue, they get no help from the clowns with the flags either who just stand there like dummy's and seem afraid to move or enter the field of play. It's about time the RFL started to try recruit some ex-players to train up to be whistle blowers. Firstly as they have played the game they would have more idea of what to watch out for, they would have a better understanding with the players and this in turn would ensure they had more respect from the players. Just an idea | |

| Wigoon vs Leeds Whino's is another classic example of ref imcompetance.
Mossop was tackled on about 52 mins over Leeds line, it was clearly a grapple tackle from Jones-Buchanan, the ref had not blown or owt and touchie stood there like a dummy so Joel Tomkins flew in to have a go at JJB.
Fortunately (or not) it didn't turn into a full blown brawl, Bentham called out JJB and warned him for the grapple and the called out Joel Tomkins and said leave it to us and don't get involved.
Thing is he hadn't give owt till the fight almost started and he wasn't going to give owt.
Poor Poor reffing standards again (yes I did say reffing with an R!!!)
