| Just had a glance on the other site and there is a thread titled Huddersfield v the referees, I can't believe some people are still convinced there is some sort of conspiracy against us by the Refs, I doubt there will be many on here who have had a go at refs more than i have, But in truth the majority of my complaints have been about the poor quality, and sometimes abysmal standards across the board. I know you do get games when you get nothing from the Ref at all, and you would swear he has backed the other team, You also get games when you get the rub, and we say things like ( the Ref let the game flow) I thought we had got over all this conspiracy crap when a certain chap left the club ,but it seems not. I have thought sometimes that Saints get better treatment, but really i think it is probably more down to them knowing how to play the Ref better, Maybe they spent time studying them and play them accordingly, I don't know. I do think that refs can play to the crowd to some extent, and there has ever been an element of them letting the so called big team get away with things, but to single out one team to pick on, as the thread title says, well i just don't believe it. Other peoples thoughts. | |

| I agree.
Sometimes Refs make decisons that bewilder. But as a ref myself i can say that when you are sat in the stands its not always possible to see what has actually happened. Not only that but lets be honest - your biased for your side.
There have however been one or two games whereby i think the game has been lost because of a ref, but they are human ateotd.

| I actually think the standard of refs has actually improved. Going full time didn't seem to improve them straight away, however slowly but surely they are steadily improving.
After saying that the ref will probably have a stinker down in London next weekend.

Ian Smith had a bit of a shakey start this season imo Helen. I thought that in particular, the Saints V Wire game in round 1 that he reffed springs to mind, was certainly not his best showing.
