It was clear yesterday we are struggling enormously in the forwards but our pivots are not good. We need a couple of specialist hookers available and a proper stand off! We look fine with all fit - Brown Lunt etc, but without not great. We should have bought a top class hooker or half back before now. We lack real direction in attack. Also back row was poor yesterday, Fergie took the ball standing still all the time, started season great, and the edfence of the 3, fergie, larne and lawrence was lacking in intensity. Watch top teams they should be the destructive defenders!

in reality we have three very good hookers in fooey, robbo and lunt - keal carlisle and wood have performed well too. How many do we want?? Its impossible to have two absolute top drawer stand offs in a squad as you pay these players a lot of money and one may have to sit out all season. Brown and chase is a nice thought but it aint happening! Ive often wondereed how many potentially good young half backs have been lost as they have not been given the opportunity to step up to the top flight and really develop.

Talking of top half backs, I hear Todd Carney is about to sign for Catalans for a year to get away from the Oz media.

They have signed Leon Pryce, so can't see Todd going there.

Canatan could be a real force next season, and may well make a good show in this years playoff's.

I was never sold on K Brown as a stand off myself i always thought him more of a cenrte, but i did get won round and he was playing really well early season, but it's the old story if the forwards are beaten the backs have little chance, I can't help but feel our season is going to end with a whimper rather than a roar.

Know what you mean Bo, but he doesn't seem to have the confidence in himself, watch him and he puts a kick thru more in hope than expectation, unlike someone like Rangi Chase who is buzzing round, probing, confident in his ability etc etc.

Browny is a good player, great tackler and decent in attack (ideal centre) but doesnt have the class for a standoff IMO.

Wouldn't argue with any of that mate, as i said i always thought of him as a centre myself and i would be happy to see him play there, But without a new quality signing he is our best option.

I used to think Brown was best at centre, but then the other year when he got injured at Wembley and he was missing for the rest of that season we really got to see what we were missing in the middle without him. He has a great pass, not just accurate, but also very well timed. He is also a strong runner and if a player hangs off he can go through or offload very well.

For me, Kev Brown is a good stand off when Brough is playing. He has never taken a game by the scruff of the neck when the chips are down and led the team like a captain should. But as above, we miss him when he is not playing.

Our pivots looked better today, around Kev it was good, our moves always go down his side, and he didn't let us down today.

Other side is a problem, soz to be controversial after such a great win,but now we are going into the play offs where if you don't get it right on the day you are gone.
