With this moving to Edinburgh I have a feeling Celtic have definitely been given the go ahead. They could have announced this after the Franchise announcement. It to me says Celtic are in!

The more i think about it the more im convinced it should be Salford and Widness. But its likely to be Celtic and Salford.

Me neither, added to that 6 games each season for me and many others will simply be too far to travel.

I'm interested to know why you think they are not ready yet, and when you think they will be .

I'd say performance for a start BO.
There are better performing teams who would attract bigger names. They (Celtic) haven't been on the main road in RL long enough to do that.
Establishment or money (such as London Broncos, when Branson pumped all the brass in). It takes one or the other, or even both and they have neither.
Only sheer luck would keep them above water imho.
I'd say Salford and Widnes were more worthy, but I'm damn sure that the RL will want to do something thinking 'out of the box'. Rolling Eyes

I agree reidy and also I think they will be ready in 2012, their crowds come from lots of free tickets, which means they are not getting a lot of income through ticket sales etc etc. but again what do I know

Well i understood Samuals ( think that's his name ) has a lot more money than Mr Davy, Also i thought that the Idea of expansion was to try and get the game going outside the M62 corridor. As far as these places being too far away to go to ( as i think it was Stu Mentioned ) well it wont make a lot of difference in the case of the Giants , as they take very few away anyway except to places like Wakey and Bradford, where you can be there in Half a hour. I understand the thinking behind that attitude, and i think it may well be shared by the majority of fans, But suppose Sky who own the game ( more or less ) are saying expand or lose our backing, How many would want to go back to the game that was dieing on It's feet before Sky.
I suppose It's a question of what people think is more important, Trying to expand the game and ensure it survives and grows, or take the line of keep it local till Iv'e had enough, and then if it goes down the pan well tough. I'm not criticizing people for holding this view, It's up to them, Personally I'd like to see the game grow, There are only so many fans Locally , and one Superleague clubs gain in fans ,is by and large another NL1 clubs loss. Catalans have only been in the league three seasons, I think i could name a few teams who bring less to the game than they do.

And the players would come from where, The argument has always been in the past that the promoted club have had no chance really because by the time they have known they were going up all the best players have gone, and they are left with the dregs, so where are the players to staff another two local teams, At least a team in south Wales has a chance of producing home grown players in a country where rugby is the main sport, The thing i was hoping you would tell me is what your thoughts are on expansion in general, we all have our opinions i am just interested in other peoples thoughts

The talent will just get spread a little more thin, which actually might mean a few more youngsters getting their chance in the top flight.

Not enough home grown talent is allowed to flourish and gets overlooked for foreign players. What Matt said is bang on the nail.

In theory that is how it should work, In reallity the best players will continue to go to the best clubs ,the one's where they have the best chance to win something.
Anyway the the choice is made , It's CC and Salford, all to play for.
