Wire have re-called Steve Pickersgill and Kevin Penny from loans spells at Widnes.
They are obviously wanting the speed of Penny down the wing for the final.

Probably not, they are probably going to play in the next weeks so that a couple of regulars can be rested. However if they perform well then just maybe we will be facing the lightening speed of Penny. It would be interesting to see him up against David Hodgson. Pace verses experience.

The loan move Penny made to Widnes was a shrewd one. He made a huge difference to them and he gained vital experience and how to 'rough it up' in a lower league against players who would have been keen to knock seven bells outa the lad. He'll be a better player for the experience and I personally hope he doesn't play, he may just haunt us.

He's caused upset before with his pace mate. I'd prefer it if they put Carney back on with a bandage around his arm! Smile Smile Smile Smile Smile Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy

For some reason I've been thinking Leroy Rivett (anyone remember him?!?), very much a stop start stop career, similarities with Penny. Cup final could be his Rivett moment....on the other hand he might just flop and be forgotten (again like Rivett).

Just get one of the big guys running out wide at him. This is of course if he plays.

Yep, was there in 1999, when he made history by being the first player ever to score a record 4 tries in a CC Cup final.
Was L**ds V London Broncos.

Do you take my point Reidy? Might cause us a few probs....if I remember right he usually scores against us and has had some of his better games for the Wire playing us.

I couldn't agree more mate. Just what Rivett did on the left flank at that final.
He's a cool customer and needs to be closed down at every opportunity.
