Cas Tigers Empty
PostSubject: Cas Tigers   Cas Tigers EmptySun Jul 21, 2013 10:12 am

Vital we win today,Ignore all what's been happening off the field , this to me has now become a bigger game than the C Cup, Forget what happened at Warrington, It's history. We are a far better side than Castleford we just need to go out there and show it, Lunt will be a big miss but no doubt Wood will be out to impress, Most important thing is for the forwards to do their stuff, If they do we have the Halves and the Backs to do the job.
Not very hopeful for the crowd but that will be no suprise. To use a modern phrase " Today is the first day of the rest of our season" Lets make a bit of noise and show the players we are still behind them.

PostSubject: Re: Cas Tigers   Cas Tigers EmptySun Jul 21, 2013 5:52 pm

Talk about a game of two halves, Whatever the coaches said at half time it had opposite effects on the teams, The good bits the first half, and a decent show from Wood, The bad bits the second half and the worst defensive performance from some players you could have. Chase had Leroy completely mesmerized, he was like a Rabbit in headlights.
Top of the league anyway, and a week off, would think PA will be spitting feathers, Brough did well again and was the only one defending at one point, Glad of the win but need to pick up from that.

PostSubject: Re: Cas Tigers   Cas Tigers EmptySun Jul 21, 2013 6:16 pm

It was an amazing first half, at one stage we seemed to be able to cut through at will. Too easy, maybe? Murphy, Leroy and Brough were on fire. Then in the second we dropped off tackles, coughed up easy ball, it was terrible. It was a good job we'd done so well at the beginning. Once things didn't go our way we weren't able to collect ourselves and restore the good things. This was similar against Wire. We need to know how to react when things are going against us.

STILL WE ARE TOP OF THE LEAGUE.

Concidering last week at Wolves and then Masongate, i was not too depressed with the crowd There was maybe 5 or 6 hundred from Cas so the hard core support turned out.
I'm sure if some statement was to come out of Fartown, things could improve, some one is doing a very poor job,(maybe more than one person)  and has IMO been doing so for quite a while,
Fans feel they need to know where the bad apples are " whether they have a right too or not i don't know"  But if survival depends on crowds,  episodes like this will just hasten the End.

A point concerning the game, I think it's time to give Grix a rest and put Murphy in, I think he is trying to hard ,just give him a rest, and Cudjo a good talking to, he was quite embarrasing second half against Chase.

Leroy was a perfect example of what went wrong yesterday. Great first half, some good runs, a try and great passes. Then couldn't get going stacking wise in second half and couldn't handle Chase in defence.

I thought Blackmore had an inconsistent game (much like the rest of the team) going forward he looks very positive, but in the second half his defence was awful, although it was only his first game for the club and he could have had more help from Leroy. Overall he could be a promising prospect as it looks as though George is on his way out and hopefully Murphy will be moved to fullback for Grix

Matt, it wasn't Leroy that couldn't handle Chase, it was Robbo, Cas attacked him all second half. Robbo is as brave as a Lion but does not defend well in space, because of his stature he sets himself to tackle, that doesn't work well when covering latteraly. Leroy normally gives Robbo loads of help, but was also Babysitting Blackmore against Carney.

Things improved when Fergie replaced Ukuma, another who is great head on but so-so sliding.

I thought even in the first half we were a bit lazy defensively, look how often Huby was allowed to spot Kyle Wood with not a lot of support, that was down to our props.

First half we held onto the ball and despite Cas attacking the same two guys (Wood & Robbo) we blew them off the park. Second half we came out like Billy big time, didn't respect the ball and let Cas run at us for half an hour.

Problems were not caused by the outside backs, but by the forward pack getting lazy, our second rows have been great all year, but Sunday was not good for Ferres or Ta'ai, Mullally appeared to be ill, Fooey is never a prop and Larne got himself sin-binned. Eorl and Koppy were ok but never got out of 3rd gear.

Yet we still scored 48 points Very Happy We can do much better and I am sure will do so in the near future.

I was sat in the big stand about 30 metres from Giants second half goal line, Believe me Chase turned Leroy inside out 4 or 5 times , I wish we had him, he is like Briers was when he was a bit younger, not sure how he would gell with Brough mind.

It was still a win and at the moment we are top, The games i am most uneasy about are the Wakey's and Salfords, we always seem to be able to get up for Wigan, It's the easier one's we tend to take for granted.

Wonder if we have any men coming back yet.

He's not the only player to have had trouble handling Chase this season, especially after Cas changed coach.

Looking at the on line highlights, he took his tries well, but two of Cas' tries were down to his poor tacking. But then this is only the start of his career. He'll get better

Also impressed with Murphy and his tries. They took some scoring.

Yes you are right, Leroy was not at his best but because he is an international It's easy to expect too much from him, It wasn't so much his tackling, it was more he looked like he didn't know where to put himself to be effective, but Chase can do that to any player on his day, I'm really glad we got those two late tries, even if one was fortunate, It shows they realised what could happen, and hopefully they will have learned .

Chase cost Cas two tries in this one though.

Some sparkling football I thought from Fartown in the opening half, certainly laid the ghost of the previous week. That Smurph bust & finish was pure class.Thought McGillvary was unlucky to get dropped,Blackmore's tackling need some work following that showing.

It's true what Cabby says about him (BB) ^ though.

Cabby as in cabrita, good point about Blackmore.

Notice that Fools are not saying Jerry was scapegoated by Paul Anderson for the Warrington debacle.
