| Would be interested in Jarrod Sammut, Liam Watts, Ryan Bailey, Luke Ambler and Sean O'Loughlin. Not sure which we could afford and rumours are we are signing Brett Ferres.
Rumours are Gilmour is on his way out too.

| Jury out on Ferres, he was a promising youngster who hasn't achieved his potential. Maybe Anderson can get the best from him and if so he will be a good back rower. | |

| Trouble is we have numerous back rowers already. Need a real hard, tough, big and nasty prop forward and a world class stand off. | |

| Agreed, especially as I heard that Mason was also up for grabs. If that is true we certainly need a real mean machine up front. Quality halves are really hard to come by. If only we could produce them in our own ranks. | |

| Did we ever give Robbo (7) and Brough SO a few games to see how they went ???????
Nope !
Halfback pairings of any merit need to be kept "together" till it blossoms!!
Dean and Keilty, Hardisty and Hepworth, Banks and Ramsden could have passed the ball blindfold and known where their colleague was
A joy to watch
Similarly with a winger and class centre
Put Luke or White or Jerry on the outside of De Vere or Costin and theyd have been scoring tries for fun!!

Things get more depressing by the day, Just because we can't find a quality SO It's no reason to fill the squad up with average Hookers and second rows, I'M with PG on this play Brough and Robbo, Stop paying money out to players like Moore, Lee ,Tonks, Ferres and anybody from Widness, some of them maybe half decent players, "but we have plenty of half decent players who don't get a proper chance anyway" and they are not going to take us forward Save the money until a top quality Prop and halfback are found , ( preferably someone who is not already crocked before they get here) If we are not squandering money on average players we should be able to afford a couple of decent ones, It also doesn't help when big slices of your Salary cap are sat in the stand, I know you can't forecast when someone is going to get crocked, It can happen at any age, but just like buying a car you cant tell if it's going to break down, but if you buy one with 100,000 miles on the clock it's a fair bet it will be more trouble than one with 10,000 miles. Too simplistic ? maybe, But we have to get serious about decent players and stop messing about with a huge squad, half full of players who are unlikely to improve a great deal. IMO we need props who can impose themselves on the opposition, the rest of the pack then get on a roll on the back of that effort, The halves then get their chance to shine behind a dominant pack, which leads to opportunities for the 3/4s. We all know how it works, just like Wigan make it work, and i know they produce players for fun and we don't , but who's fault is that ? not Wigan's, and all the more reason to stop squandering the Salary cap on players we don't need and concentrate on one's we do need.

| Yes there will be 5 or 6 good players leaving next year, but i am afraid who ever comes in PA is the wrong choice has the Coach,a lot off people will be in shock when they see who is leaving. | |

Tbh it wouldnt suprise me. Also I heard we are signing Rangi Chase/Kyle Eastmond. The amount of truth of it will be 1.0% though

Why is PA the wrong choice? I did think it odd that he was signed so far in advance. Who knows who might have come available this year. Although I suppose they wanted to try and avoid the typical mid-season blip, not that its worked. He does seem like he has done his time as an assistant and those in the know must think he has what it takes. Did the director with the test make him take it like he did Smith, Sharp and Brown?

| Would like Mark 'the Ogre' O'Meley. He has probably not had the impact for HFC that I thought he might, but is the type of solid prop we could do with.
Tom Burgess, big unit,he would be good for us too,but how long before he wants to join the rest of the family down under.
I get the feeling Keith Mason is on the way out of the club.

I can see there being a lot of truth in what your saying, and if it's going to be so shocking I guess it's going to be the wrong ones going, I'm not really all that bothered myself, I can make do with Sky for my Rugby league fix if nessesary.

I have no idea who is going, but players that would shock me if leaving are Eorl, Leroy, Robbo and Brough. I think without very big names coming in any of these leaving would adversely affect season ticket sales.

| Richie Fa'aoso the 28 year old Tongan prop has confirmed he is leaving Newcastle Knights at season end, he has said wouldn't rule out joining another NRL rival, but is also talking to Japanese RU club and an English SL club. Would someone like this be a decent signing? Don't watch much NRL nowadays http://www.zerotackle.com.au/faaoso-ready-leave-knights-6202/ | |

I reckon most of us could make a reasonable guess " sensible or otherwise " Meanwhile until It's all official we shall just have to live with the suspense as best we can, Hope it doesn't spoil my golf today.

I would like to keep Eden, Patrick and a couple of others besides Brough and Robbo But i have a lot of sympathy with your view, We have quite a few players who are not as good as they believe themselves to be. The team were capable of some good football before it all went belly up though and they have to get back to some sort of form tomorrow to have any chance to salvage the season, I don't like to think of the consequences of a loss against the Bronco's
