Fairbank returns.

Wardle (groin problem) & Faiumu missing through injury.

Will it be plastic fantastic for us or plastic bertrand (crap singer & song from years back)

Not sure what the overall verdict is on that pitch surface now after half the season has gone.

Its a game played by hard men. A few cuts shouldn't make any difference
to them. As long as we play better than when we played Salford and then
continue that improvement in each and every game between now and the end
of the season then we will have a great season. To me I'd make a few
changes and then if the new guys show good form, don't drop them as soon
as Kevin et al return from bans or knocks.

Rumour that Cudjoe is going to play stand off today. If it's true this is starting to smack of desperation now.

Surely you pick a halves combo at the start of the season and get them working off each other,so they can build an understanding. At the same time plan any moves around them,so the runners know instinctively where they need to be.Have we abandoned the Brough/Grix combo now.Grixy's defence is not always the best when he gets isolated but they knew that when they shifted him.

Anyway the Cudjoe rumour may turn out to be that, just a rumour.

As for the game today if it's chucking down over there like it is here, wonder how that will affect the plastic pitch, will we see players water-plaining.

We daren't lose today so - COYG

Thank god I didn't go to this game. Four defeats on the bounce now. Last two to Salford and Widnes. What has gone so badly wrong? I hope Nathan knows the reason then quickly figures out the solution.

Sadly I think Nathan has become the problem, stupid selection today, changed the entire backline for the absence of only 1 (Wardle), within the first 12 minutes confusion rained and we lost three tries.

We started with a light pack (with Mason, Patrick and fa'alogo on the bench), Gillie seemed to struggle badly, we then made an early change of Mason for Gillie, by the time Fa'algo and Patrick came on we had taken control and got back to 16-12 at half time looking dominant.

Then came half time, a few classic Nathan Tweaks, swapping centres around, not sure what happened to Eden but suddenly we were disjointed again.

Too clever by half from Nathan, the players looked confused and the many changes do not help understanding of roles or consistency.

He's looking more and more like J S every week, He wants to have a long look at himself and when hes done , get on his bike and get down the East Lancs road to Saints, Completely lost the plot.

Wont say "we told you so" though Bo!! (THE GOSPEL ACCORDING TO THE MOANING OLD GIFFERS!)
Now out in paperback!

Some want to go back a year (or two) -(especially on the "other" forum ) and its there in black and white !!

And the flack we got for daring to say it !!!

I even got a ban!!

1 If its working --dont try fixing it
2 Play a lad whos come through the juniors/ academy in a certain position in THAT position
3 If for any reason a player is off form/ injured ---please only substitute in that position
Then the lad who gets a chance --is introduced into a settled team

FFs it aint rocket science!!

Yerd think we were trying to get to Mars !!

Now all of a sudden almost everyone on there is saying it !!!!!!

Gotta smile Bo!! Very Happy Wink

This game was lost in that disastrous opening quarter. The commitment to defend our own goal line at all costs was not evident. On the first try a great cover tackle from Smurf but then they just switched off to the possibility of a quick shift to the short side by Widnes. For the second and third tries our defenders were slow to react to the in goal kicks,in short the Widnes players were more committed to getting low and onto the football first. There was a question mark over the way Cross bundled Robbo over though for the last one.

Yet again another team looked better structured on attack than us,and this one the bottom side of the comp.We had some good field position but it looked shambolic when we went wide with few dummy runners going through.

Widnes looked out on their feet in the latter stages of the second half and it seemed like only a matter of time before we would take over on the scoreboard, but we conspired to fluff our opportunities When we finally did get our noses in,front.it was a good try from Grix, with Chan creating the space for him.

Then the very unfortunate Brough attempted kick to touch.Just had a feeling a try would result from that,Doof was very unlucky slipping over, but once again a Widnes player was quickest to react to the ball in the in goal area, though it looked a very close thing as to who got the first touch,Phelps or Smurf.

Some strange positional switches from NB,it was hard to follow who was defending where.Eden onto the wing did not work,he had a great opportunity in the first half to go the distance but did not back himself.Plus he is still having difficulties with bombs.

The plastic pitch on the whole seemed to play okay. One or two incidents of players slipping but in them monsoon conditions they could just easy have slipped had it been on a grass surface.Maybe the biggest problem is that players find it more difficult to stop, turn and run back, say if a ball is kicked behind them.

All very depressing.Hope we can get some form back before the semi,as that seems like our best chance of a trophy now.

Well as Iv'e said PG i didn't go fortunately, but my mate did and Iv'e had the full SP from him, and i listened to it on the Radio. You are right mate It's not Rocket science, But it will all be explained away with phrases like " we cant let the slump go on too long" or " a couple of our players need to take a good look at themselves " N Brown wants to start by taking a look at himself, One week we have the next Billy Slater ,the next he's stuck out on the wing and half the team are changed round, If It's not working by HT we'll have another swap. I can't wait to see the reaction at Saints when he starts this nonsense over there, He'll be gone faster that a rat up a drainpipe.

There are all sorts of rumors flying about, And I'm sure that's just what most of them are, but that said you don't get a lot of confidence at the moment do you, Lunt replaced by Scotty, K Brown going, other players who are a shadow of what they were and being played all over the park, I thought we had finished with all that crap with the last fella. Like the guy on the Radio said Loosing to Catalan and Wigan is one thing, loosing to the bottom club who concede 50 points a game, when we have a squad good enough to bury them is another, and It's certainly enough for me for the time being.
