Another average player, we are really going well now, He has been turning us down for the last 2 years , wonder what's changed his mind with Wakey getting a new start "so to speak " The only thing about him in his favor is that he is young, and he may well make the grade along with Tonks, only problem is we may have gone out of business by then through lack of support,
My style would have been to leave him and George where they were let Raleigh go where he can get a game, same with kirmond, K Brown to centre, Leroy to Winger, both good moves , and hey presto you have 4 wages with which to attract a stonking SO, Simples, and with the others that have gone ,a really decent prop.

Only time will tell if this was a good move. Kirmond and Raleigh weren't getting much game time. It is debatable if that was right as it seems others were getting picked whilst carrying injuries and that might at least partly explain our terrible end to the season. Will Murphy get in over Wardle or Lawrence, what will happen to them next season if they aren't getting much game time now. All have long contracts don't they?

Seems to be some opinion that full back might be where Murphy could end up.Would have thought Wardle & Cudjoe were our first choice centre pairing for 2012.Wardle getting roasted on the inside by Hardaker rung the alarm bells.

A bit sorry to see dynamic Dan leave us,a tough player, good to watch him take the ball up,but then did miss tackles & fumble.Funny how these guys come as outside backs,NB converts them into backrowers then gets shot of them, bit like Horne.

Andy's probably the best back rower we have had in SL,can't think of a better one,he was a big reason why we got close to success,Wembley & one game off OT etc.

How come you talk so much sense Bo? You can see where the problem lies, I can see where the problem lies a few others can too, but the man paid a fortune to steer our ship can't seem to see his arse from his elbow lately.

What has happened after so much early promise? Do we look capable of winning owt? We aren't even Yorkshire's no 1 club and tbh are we even 2nd? are we better than the likes of Cas.

Set my hopes on us making the top 8 this year after predicting we would win something last year.

I am starting to wonder if they are settling for being a top 8 side, It wouldn't be a surprise in view of the support we attract, Mind you with the type of football we have played the last 3 months ,that's no surprise either. The one really top class player they have signed for the last few years, they were offloading half way through the season. I can see me playing a lot more Sunday Golf next season. Maybe they will surprise us yet. Neutral

All 3 of you are spot on. I'll also go as far as to say that we started playing 1 pass rugger again, which puts us back in the performance stakes. Other SL teams win games by throwing the ball around. Why the hell don't we?

We were throwing it about Reidy ---against Saints (no other) at home it was open rugby and defence combined at its best

But after that ................it fell away !

It wasnt just the injuries although they DID contribute ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, to the wholesale changes mad to the shape and format of the team

But why ??????

If we had a big enough squad with ""COVER"" why didnt the cover for certain positions get a shot at COVERING ???
Instead the players who played and combined so well aginst SAINTS were all moved about so that in the end it looked as though theyd met on the bus and when eventually they returned to sonething like their original positions --the cohesion had well and truly disappeared -along with their hunger for the game and a desire to WIN it seemed

I admire the unabounding optimism of OS Jools and others -- not being sarcastic ---I really do and their right to their take on matters

But I suggest me and Bo once had that too and talked about in the same manner
But it aint "taliking about the good old days (well not completely) Wink but as Ive said its now 58 years since a CC final win --and 49 since a virtual GF win and believe it really is TOO LONG when you see the kind of team shuffling and decline in standards taking place "WHEN IT WAS WORKING " ok for me! Evil or Very Mad

Your right mate, they are only saying what we have said for 50 years near enough, How many seasons have we started when you have thought maybe we really can do something this time, only to end the season with a threat never to go again. What makes it worse for us is that having gone through half a lifetime of it, when we finally get on a level playing field, with the same amount to spend as the so called big clubs, we are still getting the "we know what went wrong" and "It will be better next year" routine.

The younger posters on here are just going through the same stuff we did, the difference now is that players play for the money, when they were playing for £10 to win and £6 pound for a loss, you could hardly say they were playing for the money.

It is a different game now since summer rugby came in, so if you talk about the old days you are always going to get that put to you ( understandable) but one thing never changes is that to win things you have to have your share of top class players in the vital positions, and the team as a whole have to want to win real bad ( like we did at Cardiff).

Maybe next year eh PG Wink

I'm as frustrated as the next man that we haven't won anything, but Nathan Brown has taken us as close as it could possibly get,and he can't be held responsible for mistakes made before he got here.

That's true and i said in another post he deserved his coach of the year, But even you must see he has a share of what went wrong in both the last two seasons collapses.imo a big share. All that said there's something doesn't feel right about the club, all this signing project players, and average players who might make it, all soaking up salary cap, and many of them wont get a game, I thought the trick was to bring your own projects through. No doubt all will be revealed in time.

Yeah it fell away badly last year,no getting away from that.Guess we all have our own reasons as to why,and also what's going on with the playing rosta. One year too many ? do the players need to hear a different voice now.Dunno tbh,I'm just a fan. He's here for another year, got to back him to get it right before he leaves.

Its really apparent how most fans are feeling by the posts on all forums.

It would be interesting to read KD`s mind and his true inner feelings

He must have some doubts or worries whether we are becoming or are a nearly but not quite top half team
If not hes made of really stern stuff and still in the optimists -not realists camp Neutral
