Just read that on another forum, if true and it is a big if, Sir Ken should get shot now, before Cas game. Get some certaintu back in the club asp. Like I say a big if, but winners need to be ruthless sometimes.

Why? It's a forum for opinions. It's not hurting anyone or slanderous. Just because you or I don't agree with it shouldn't mean it has to be locked. Personally I think NB will still be trying his best to end on a high whether it's at the end of this year or the next. A trophy on your CV can only be a good thing.

Not just me that's negative then mate. You may well have inside information, but if you do you are never disposed to share it with people on here, and you may well have good reason that's your business , That doesn't give you the right to tell people they are Negative. It's a forum to debate /discus rumors among other things people have the right to express their opinions, You very rarely join in so why not just ignore the threads instead of wanting them deleting.

Simple solution actually Bo

Us mere mortals can only speculate based on snippets in the press and media and hearsay of other fans privileged or otherwise
If this leads to negative undertones and our learned friend has more "positive" FACTS -then give us em --and all posters on here can join the POSITIVITY CLUB

I also stated some time ago that I wanted to form a consistency club on this forum --as consistency brings trophies -

.......................................-but Ive abandoned that idea as the only thing we`re consistent at is .......................INCONSISTENCY! Sad

the price you pay for having a top coach is they will get linked to other top sides, I'm happy to have that compared with the alternative of having an average or worse still poor coach

I think he is a top coach. Wembley final, highest league positions, furthest in the play-offs and coach of the year. Okay we are in a dip at the moment, lets see if he can mastermind a return to form. Mind you I do remember saying similar things about Jon Sharp.

To be honest a top coach should be leading his team to some type of silverware after having 3 years in charge with a backer as generous as Sir Ken, as for Jon Sharpe that's a whole different discussion but top and coach don't really come into it!!!!

Is Nathan really to blame for the dip in form? The players managed to play well enough last year with a threat of a rape allegation hanging over them so with most of them having sorted out contracts now why should they be concerned over stuff in the press? It's not like they can be worried for their jobs!

Even though Ken is very generous we still have the same salary cap as all the other teams. Okay not all spend to the limit because they don't have big crowds or a rich backer, but most do so to be at the top end and in the hunt for silverware is an achievement. This season is not over, but obviously players form do need to turn around and very quickly.

Well he has to take his share or it. After his first season here he was voted coach of the year and he was happy enough to take the credit for that, ( deserved though it was )
J Sharp's name is cropping up more and more these days, and the similarities are beginning to stand out more and more, He also set off like a house on fire "Challenge cup finals etc" He ended up getting the sack after a drubbing at Catalan, despite his protestations that he was the most qualified coach in the game and all that, Sadly "for him" he still isn't coaching anyone yet.

Now i know N Brown is a better coach than J Sharpe ever was but to me his style is starting to look more and more like his, At the start of this season K Davy had assembled reputedly the biggest and strongest squad in Superleague ( presumably with a lot of input from NB ) I questioned on here the desirability of such a big squad of players with similar or equal abilities, and the ability to keep them all happy, Well if Andy Raleigh is happy sitting in the stand, while a centre with no experience is out of his depth playing out of position , i will be surprised, and i believe there will be others like him.
I would have thought that with a squad the size of ours that should we get a forward injured, then the simple thing would be to bring in another forward from this big squad we have, should our Stand off get crocked should we not bring in another stand off, or should we move a Centre to stand off and have him drop back to fullback when we are in defence and allow the fullback to move up to stand off when we attack. It used to be a simple game Rugby league.

Another thing i am starting to wonder about is the value for money we are getting from some of these overseas players, It seems a real struggle for some of them to put more than a couple of games together, You can't foresee injuries like Breaks and Ligaments and other serious things , but its the little niggly things that keep them out every other game that bother me, I wonder if they are really fit or over trained or what. All that said , we had a team out last week that was good enough to bury Bradford , and they couldn't be a****ed to bother, If they turn up with the same Attitude at Cas they will get the same sort of Hiding, and their season will be as good as over, and N Brown will have his share of the blame.
I pray this doesn't happen cause as well as anything else it will virtually kill the Homecoming thing stone dead.

That is a pretty a naiive point of view. If you look at Wigan it is quite clear that there youth system is miles ahead of ours hence their academy players which you have to have in your squad are better than ours.

If you also think that Wire's interpratation of the salary cap is the same as ours again you are wrong. They are much more flexible about Image rights and overseas payments as are the Giants.

It is clear we are still a long way behind those two.

Whats Naive about that, our Academy players have had little or no chance this season, so are you saying that the Academy players at Wigan are more capable than our regular squad players.
I think what FP is saying is that most Fans got the feeling Via Examiner reports and other comments from club officials that we were going to be a real threat this season, with a big squad and a chance to win something, and to be fair to N Brown he is still saying that,
The Fat lady is not singing yet ,if we can get back to our early season form all is not lost, a good win at Cas tommorrow will do for a start. What bothers me more than anything else is that i know how some of us on here feel when we have just invested in a season ticket, Imagine how K Davy must feel with the amount he has invested, sooner or later his patience must run out.

Looks like Cas Academy in front of us too.

We might be lucky to get a franchise at this rate Shocked

Think after the money Ken has spent he would have been expecting some return for this, at the moment the only thing he has to show for all the money he has thrown at the club is empty pockets.

Maybe he was naive as well as some of the other ones of us who expected the Giants to actually win something.

I wasn't there today so i cant really comment on the performance, except that I listened to the game on Radio Leeds and from what i heard on the Radio, it didn't sound too good to be honest, sounded by what Poaching was saying that the forwards were outplayed again and on the back foot for 90% of the first half, They seemed to step up a bit in the second half and to be fair we scored as many tries as them, Unfortunately Brough had a very poor day with the boot.
It's not easy to get a fair assessment on the Radio, It just sounded to be all Cas but I'm sure we'll get a better idea when some of the posters who went to the game get on here.
Either way the dream is over for this year, and that's the first time we have lost to Cas in the cup for 76 years, The task now will be to avoid going into free fall in the league.

Defence was pathetic. Cas should have won by half time. Jermaine dreadful in defence, but so were many others.

It did sound bad on the radio, both commentators said the Giants were lucky not to be blown away by half time, but you don't get a fair idea from the Radio, For instance I only heard D Hogsons name once in the game ( when he lost the ball towards the end ) Cudjo was mentioned twice that i can remember ( once when he scored ) Kirmond 3 times ( two for penalties and one for kicking the ball dead ) Poaching reckoned we showed no intensity till the game was lost, and it did sound to be all Cas, Still we scored 4 tries which is something, NB was spouting the usual codswallop after the game, I'm starting to wonder if he still knows what the plot is.

Poaching was right, the back row choice of Bruno,Larne & Fergy at loose just didn't work.Bruno still runs like a centre,Larne tried but can't dominate the ruck as a run on,and Fergy, sorry, but the least said the better today,he was stopped on the gain line every carry.

Jermaine may have been shaky in defense - but he made more bleeding yards running the ball in than our forwards! Drop griff and mason give Andy and Horne a shot next week. But it won't happen.
