| Both are good players and will probably come quite cheap as I think it is a very long shot to expect their current employers to be in this league next season. However if we are close to the full cap how will they fit in? | |

| It depends on a certain decision to be made shortly by the rfl. We'll get em cheap. Personally I can't see how we gain losing the experience of hodgy. We have a very young 3/4 line without him. | |

| Hodgy is a try scoring machine. Brown indicated his importance in a recent interview, not just for his tries, but also his leadership of the young backs. This could be a hint to give him another contract. | |

Yes I read that interview and thought it was a tacit indication that Dodgy would get a contract extension the way NB was singing his praises.

| All good points.....blimey!....this is more complicated than a tax return!
I do think Dodgy has played well enough recently to get another year though. Some of his finishing has been excellent.

| I have just looked up his stats and comparing him to Joel Monaghan shows them to be very similar in Rugby terms and I guess most Wire fans would want to keep Joel.

| Hodgson is playing his best Rugby for some time, although i have always been a fan of his wherever he has played, i have also been critical of his speed, and then he goes length of the field He also put in a good kick to Fai-umu ( even if he was a mile offside), However he is not going to get better at this stage of his carreer, so if his contract is up and we can improve on him, (which we should be trying to do whatever the player or position) then he should be let go, If we cant improve on him then re-sign him. I know i seem to be quite alone in my opinion but for me the left wing should be Leroy, he has the height and the pace to do a job, He lacks punch in the tackle, and is often the second man in but with Gilmour or Lawrence, or any strong centre inside him I think he could be a success. | |

I don't know why Alex Brown wasn't given a contract....he seemed ready to step up to Super League I thought. Hodgy's heir apparrent. Who knows what goes on behind the scenes?

I think that could have been something to do with a certain off season trip to Newcastle!

| Murphy stayed with Weaky when we wanted him this season,so it appears to me these players know they are going OOC at the end of 2011 because they already know Weakfield are getting the push from Super League for 2012. | |
